Typically, I share books that are geared toward’s women but today I am sharing a reading list of my favorite children’s books! Many of these books I’ve read to my kids as well as children I’ve taught in a classroom setting. I’ve compiled a reading list including some of the books that I enjoyed as a kid. Building literacy is a worthwhile investment that fuels a lifetime of learning!
Family Favorites

Learn your ABC’s through the storyline of the Bible. We received this as a gift and it quickly became a favorite in our home!

This is my favorite children’s Bible! It is a good combination of simple language without compromising truth. Great to read through with the whole family! Perfect for all ages.

A classic story that makes it easy for a child to read along with you. Simple and interactive that will have little ones picking it up over and over again.
Bedtime Favorites
Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night?

A great rhyming bedtime story! I heard about this book through a quick conversation with a fellow grocery shopper.
Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site

Boys that love trucks might have fun with this one. Plus they will learn the different types of construction trucks at the same time!
Classroom Favorites

A classic story that is a mix of fun, silly, and a little bit educational. A childhood favorite of mine!
My First Farm: Let’s get working!

This is a great small group story for toddlers. Girls and boys alike have fun pointing out farm animals and making their sounds.
Library StoryTime was one of our favorite pre-pandemic activities to go to. Reading is a regular past time and learning activity for us but the group aspect makes story time even more fun. Due to the pandemic, some students are missing out on extracurricular activities or going without helpful tutoring. Fortunately, there are virtual options are available!
