Birth of the Blog

July 1, 2017

Having a baby is life changing. A new child brings on new responsibilities, new roles, and for me a renewed perspective on life. I found that in the midst of loving my husband, changing diapers, and hanging out with friends was a burning desire for a creative outlet to share my passions and encourage others in the process. This desire led to the birth of this blog. My primary passion is my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord of my life. The title, A Taste of Goodness, is rooted in my faith. As you journey with me you will understand why.

Why did I choose that name, A Taste of Goodness? Once I made the choice to follow Christ and I began to regularly read the Bible, I fell in love with His word. At first, I read out of curiosity, then out of duty, then out of desire, and now I crave God’s word. I LOVE honey! It is my sweetener of choice, especially in a hot cup of green tea. Psalm 119:103 reads, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” I agree with the Psalmist because the only thing more satisfying than the sweet taste of honey is the goodness of God’s Word!

All throughout scripture I constantly see how good God is and I can definitely see in every moment of every day how good He is to me. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Psalm 34:8. I have indeed tasted that He is good and it is in His goodness that I find rest. God is the giver of all good gifts (James 1:17). Through this blog, I hope to share with you all the ways I find goodness in every gift the Father has given me.

There is evidence of God in every aspect of life. Of all the ways to describe those pieces of evidence, I see His goodness. So whether you have never heard of Jesus Christ or if you have been a follower of Him for a long time, my hope is that you find His goodness in the everyday moments that fill your life. And if you find Him, dare to taste and savor in the goodness of His glory.

Grace and Peace!!
